Eight gem tintype portraits of African-American men, taken ca. 1861-1868. Six of the portraits are of Newbern Tomb, who was a servant to the Loring family of Massachusetts during and after the Civil War; the other men are unidentified. Enclosed is an envelope identifying Tomb’s portraits.
